Slow Start, Fast Finish . . .
Flying high over the Englewood Rams, the Golden Eagles brought in their second victory of the season. After a scoreless first half, the Eagles setteled down for a touchdown in each of the remaining periods. In the third quarter, end Bryant grabbed a pass from Henkle to set up the scoring play to Gideons. A runnung attempt for the point failed; nevertheless, we led 6-0. After the kickoff, the Eagles pushed the Rams to their 2-yard line and forced them to punt. Long runs by Gideons, Peterson, and Henkle brought us another six-pointer within only four plays; however, the boot for the extra point fell short. In asn attempt for a third score, Vernon Peterson scampered down the field and over the goal but was called back because there were only ten Eagles on the field.

OOPS! Pete Carter stands on his head for a touchdown.

Throttled the Trojans . . .
The Eagles swooped down on the newly organized Trojans and brought in another victory. Excitement mounted in the second quarter when our stalwart Eagles rushed the opponent's kicker and caused the punt to go out of bounds within 12 yards. Six plays later Eddy Gaskins squeezed through the Trojan line to make the first score. The extra point attempt failed when the pass from center was delivered too low. In the opening of the third quarter, Freddie henkle displayed some tricky footwork

and skipped to Ribault's 49-yard line after snagging a Trojan punt. Gaskins picked up 28 yards in two plays and the Eagles gained enough momentum to drive Ribault back to their one-yard line. Ribault blinked and Gaskins sneaked across for another six-pointer. Two minutes later Pete Carter proved dynamite comes in small packages as he snatched a 29-yard punt and took to the sidelines fot the Eagle's final touchdown. Cheers soared when the pigskin sailed across the goal post for the second extra point and final score.

EAGLES LEAD David Gideons to score while the Trojans lag behind.
